Sunburst Cross 1

Design by Patricia Baker Torrey and Barbara Hartley
A 7"x 10" free-form cross suncatcher with fingers of pale amber and yellow wispy glass laid out in a sunburst pattern. Letting the grain run out from the center of the project produces a halo effect. The cross, which is constructed with copper foil, can also be used as the centerpiece for the “Sunburst Cross” panel in the Spring 2001 issue of Glass Patterns Quarterly. For a different look, the cross could also be made using bevels. This is a great project for using scrap glass.
