New Life in an Old Rose

Design by Mark Waterbury
A 24"x 36" rectangular bird and floral panel that depicts a family of bluebirds inside a thorny, blossom-covered rosebush. This project is constructed with copper foil, and realism is added by also making the thorns from copper foil. Glass paint adds detail to the flower centers and the birds’ eyes. The pattern in this issue can be enlarged, or full-sized pattern #65 may be purchased from Glass Patterns Quarterly.
