Leaf Filigree Suncatcher—An Introduction to Stained Glass

Design, Fabrication, and Text by Lidia K. Anderson

A 5‑1/4" square three-dimensional suncatcher created with blue and green glass cut to fit 4 brass leaf filigrees. The halves are joined along the centers at an angle to form full leaves, then joined to each other to form a cross shape. The leaf shapes are bordered with clear hammered glass strips that form an open square around the center design. This project was constructed using the copper foil technique.
